⚡ The gist in 5 seconds - Sideraven has been released — a fork of Iceraven for Android tablets. - The main feature is a vertical side tab panel inspired by Zen Browser. - The project is available on GitHub and is not affiliated with Zen Browser or Mozilla. ### 🔍 What was found On GitHub, a project called Dweep4269/sideraven</a> has appeared — it's a fork of the Iceraven browser with a focus on tablet mode. The key feature is a vertical side tab panel that stylistically mirrors the approach of Zen Browser**. The author explicitly states that the project is independent and not connected with the Zen Browser or Mozilla developers. According to the description, the tab panel is placed on the side, which is more convenient on the wide screens of tablets compared to the classic top strip. The project is open source and can be built or installed from the GitHub repository. ### 💡 Why it matters Iceraven has long remained a niche Firefox fork for Android, valued for its extensions and fine-grained customization. However, its interface remains traditional — with horizontal tabs at the top. Sideraven fills this gap for tablet owners, bringing to Android the side panel idea that has already gained popularity in desktop browsers. If the project continues to develop, it will become a decent alternative for those who are used to vertical tabs in Zen Browser but need full Firefox extension support on a tablet.
